***THANK YOU to all the attendees and everyone else that helped make this event a success!! We appreciate you!!! ***

Come dance with us!! We're excited to welcome you to our Tango Northside community with a weekend dedicated to the tradition of social tango. Our guest DJs, among the most esteemed in North America, will ensure every tanda will delight and inspire. Plus, we'll have brunches and presentations to keep you fueled and enlightened. All events will be held at the charmingly historic Hoffner Lodge (which also houses our studio) in the vintage second floor ballroom.

Attendance will be limited to a role-balanced 100 dancers, a number we feel is optimal for an intimate event, so get your registration in soon! Once you've fully registered, join our attendees' Facebook group for important updates and to connect with other dancers!

Edmond Bar

Hey! I’m Edmond from Ann Arbor. I’m a DJ, teacher, and the organizer of the Ann Arbor Tango Marathon, and I’m grateful to be part of such a vibrant and welcoming community. As a DJ, I’ve had the joy of sharing music at local milongas as well as at festivals and marathons around the world.

Outside of tango, I’m passionate about creativity, sustainability, and fostering growth in myself and in the people and places around me. I'm an architect and I love exploring the world through art, travel, and nature, while cherishing meaningful connections with friends and loved ones.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve developed a DJ style that crafts an atmosphere of connection — every tanda tells a story, and memories linger long after the last song ends.

Felipe Martinez

Felipe Martinez is a full time tango dancer, teacher, DJ and organizer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been DJing tango for more than 20 years and is a resident DJ in the Bay Area at The Beat, Genesis, Alberto’s, The Verdi Club and El Valenciano. He has also played music all over North America and in Buenos Aires, where he was invited to play music at El Beso and Villa Malcolm Club on several occasions. He has also played extensively in Europe and Asia. Felipe’s musical selection is based on the Golden Age classics that ensure a great atmosphere for dancing.

Rod Relucio

In the tango world, Rod Relucio is widely known as a teacher and performer, but behind the booth, he is quickly earning rave reviews as a DJ. Rod crafts musical journeys that move through waves of emotion and energy, keeping dancers fully engaged from the first tanda to the final cortina. His DJ sets are grounded in traditional tango, with thoughtful pacing and musicality that keeps the floor full until the very end of the milonga.

He has DJ’d at festivals, marathons, and milongas across the U.S. and abroad. Recent appearances include Tango Maya Festival, Tango Holiday Weekend, Sultan’s Tango Festival, Athens Tango Festivalaki, and the Boston Tango Marathon. When he’s in Chicago you can hear him monthly at the 312 Milonga.

She regularly DJs at the local milongas in the San Francisco Bay Area where she is based. She has been invited to DJ in prominent tango festivals, marathons and encuentros around the world.

Since 2019, Ayano co-founded the Tango Poetry Project, www.tangopoetryproject.com  (an online source for translated tango lyrics and explanation videos) to promote the world of tango poetry.

Ayano will present on the topic Tango Poetry on Saturday.
