"FELIPE & AYANO came together in the tango scene of the SF Bay Area, and embody the global nature of tango, traveling full-time throughout North America, Europe, South America, and Asia to teach, DJ, and lecture about the music. They also spend time annually in Buenos Aires studying and enjoying the dance and its history.
FELIPE's background includes a degree in education and more than 20 years of experience in tango and is widely renown for his clear teaching strategy, enthusiastic personality, and ability to make real improvements in your dancing.
AYANO has been dancing tango since 2005 and is an accomplished and motivated dancer, with excellent movement technique and musicality. She has been teaching with Felipe for the past few years around the country.
Together, their demonstrations are clear and precise, offering students an excellent model of movement and showing a deep knowledge and respect for the genre. Both Felipe and Ayano lead and follow interchangeably which is invaluable for teaching. Their series at Stanford University and their classes at The Beat in Berkeley are always in high demand, which is a tribute to their teaching excellence and wide appeal."

7:30-9pm + guided practica 9-10pm / $30
Drills and exercises for body awareness, balance, freedom of movement, control and precision. All levels.
SATURDAY 10/14 - afternoon
The Artful Dance Part 1: Rhythmic Orchestras
1:30-3:00pm / $30
Felipe & Ayano present the poetry and musicality of rhythmic tangos, along with classic movements, figures, and techniques for a more expressive and informed social dance.
The Artful Dance Part 2: Melodic Orchestras
3:15pm-4:45pm / $30
This class will follow a similar format to the first class, with the emphasis on more melodic tangos. We encourage you to take both classes if possible to benefit from the full scope of the topic.
SATURDAY 10/14 - evening
Dancing in Crowded Spaces
8pm-9pm / $25 (includes milonga)
Functional figures and techniques for dancing in a crowded space, emphasizing navigation and musicality. All levels.
EVENING MILONGA
9pm-1am / $15
An evening of tango to the best classic tandas by special guest DJ Felipe.
SUNDAY 10/15
Afternoon classes and tea dance (w/DJ Ayano)

SATURDAY PASS: $80 (includes all three classes plus the Saturday evening milonga)
FRIDAY/SATURDAY PASS: $100 (includes Friday class and practica, all three Saturday classes, and Saturday evening milonga)
PAYMENTS & REGISTRATION:
All events may be paid for either in advance (Venmo) or at the door (cash, check, or Venmo). Advance registration helps us gauge and prepare for the class sizes and lead/follow balance.
